They’re called “suicide headaches.”
They’re rated a 9.7 on the pain scale. Child labor is a 7.2. A gunshot wound is a 6.0.

Cluster headaches are thought to be the worst pain a human can experience.
There is no known cure.
In fact, many doctors have so completely exhausted their medical solutions that they are now recommending psychedelics to their cluster headache patients who are desperate for any relief.
When Jeremy walked into our clinic, I had never heard of cluster headaches. The pain he described seemed unimaginable but as he went into more detail about the symptoms, I was surprised by how much it aligned with our philosophies on chronic pain.
The pain was dramatic but the underlying issue seemed simple.
We took Jeremy as a client to test the merit of our chronic pain framework against the single-worst type of chronic pain one can experience.
In 90 days, we had the headaches completely under control.
What you are about to learn is a completely new approach to chronic pain. It is remarkably simple but incredibly effective.
I was first introduced to this way of thinking in 2013 when I was a Performance Coach for the Los Angeles Lakers and Arizona Diamondbacks. As it turns out, when I took that formula for high performance and applied it to chronic pain…magic happened.
What’s the Problem?: The Law of Entropy
The problem you are trying to solve is not chronic pain. The real problem is the Law of Entropy.
The Law of Entropy states that everything in the universe is moving from a state of order to a state of disorder.
If I buy bananas at the grocery store, the clock is ticking. They are slowly growing rotten. They are moving from a state of order (fresh) to a state of disorder (brown and rotten).
The major systems of your body operate under the same conditions. At the moment of your birth, you were flawless. Everything was working perfectly. But slowly, over time, screws became loose. Over a long enough period of time, something is bound to break. Pain is inevitable. It’s the Law of Entropy.
The key then, is to keep the major systems of your body functioning at a high enough level.
When you buy a car, if you never take it to a mechanic, it’s only a matter of time before it breaks down. But annual inspections, oil changes and tire rotations keep it running smoothly for much longer.
To keep a car running smoothly, you must consistently assess and maintain its major systems…

Where Traditional Medicine Gets it Wrong
Pain is just an alarm bell. It’s the check-engine light on your vehicle. It’s indicating that one or more of the systems has broken down somewhere.
Traditional medicine is only focused on the pain. It’s only focused on why that check-engine light is coming on.
In fact, there is a procedure called a “Nerve Ablation” which is quite literally frying the end of the nerve so it stops sending the pain signal. This is the equivalent of just unplugging the wires so the check-engine light turns off.
Sure, the check-engine light is off, but there is still a problem under the surface.
Pain is just the tip of the iceberg. Its role is to tell you that one or more of the systems is breaking down.

How to Actually Solve Chronic Pain
Solving chronic pain means assessing and treating all four of these systems until they reach an adequate level of function.
At Saint Bartholomew, each new client receives a four-system diagnostic that evaluates the current status of each system. The average score for someone dealing with chronic pain is 40%.
We have found that once someone reaches an 85% on this assessment, their pain is gone.
That means taking you through a program that is designed to improve all four of these systems and continuing that program until all minimum standards are met.
Solving chronic pain is simply closing that gap.
What Does This Process Look Like?
At Saint Bartholomew, we call this process “The Work.”
In your first visit to our clinic, we will do our complete evaluation of each of these systems as well as periodically throughout your program. Our mission is to build a body that is functioning so well that pain can no longer exist.
Once we have your baseline scores, “The Work” is designed to systematically restore each of the four major systems.
Each of the four systems builds on the previous. Starting with Posture & Breathing, each client must meet the minimums before adding on the next layer. This ensures that performance is never built on top of dysfunction.
Once all four systems have been integrated into the training program, we periodically re-assess you until you reach a passing grade of 85%.
Is it Really that Simple?
Simple? Yes.
Easy? Not quite.
It takes real effort to improve these systems. It’s not a matter of adding a few corrective exercises or just getting a standing desk. You’ve got real work to do.
Getting stronger is not pleasant.
Working on your aerobic conditioning levels is downright uncomfortable.
Ensuring that your nervous system doesn’t give in to the constant barrage of stimulus and stressful life events is not for the faint of heart.
It’s no wonder so many people suffer from various chronic health conditions. The level of discipline needed to maintain these four systems takes a special kind of person.
You may have very good reasons why you cannot dedicate this amount of energy to your health but let me be very clear…
There are minimum passing requirements to having and maintaining a pain-free body. If you fall beneath the threshold, pain is coming.
